![]() ![]() “King Tut, how’d you get so funky” might be burned on the brains of every Gen-Xer after Steve Martin strutted out on SNL in 1978 in a questionable “Egyptian” costume and parodied a popular King Tut exhibit. The killer chorus is almost no match for the pun-filled verses about the ghouliest of spectres: “Out of from his coffin, Drac’s voice did ring/Seems he was troubled by just one thing/He opened the lid and shook his fist/And said, ‘Whatever happened to my Translyvania twist?’” 5. “Monster Mash” is seasonal, yes, but it’s still great no matter the season. “Monster Mash” – Bobby “Boris” Pickett & The Crypt Kickers That’s it! For that reason, it’s a lot of fun to sing, because there’s nothing more funny than trying to pronounce “gadolinium,” “samarium,” “molybdenum,” and “mendelevium,” especially with children, who are notoriously uninformed re: the Periodic Table of Elements and will think of the important substances as silly indeed. “The Elements” is exactly what it sounds like: a song that lists all of the elements on the periodic table as of the time of the song’s writing, and nothing else. It’s also just a lot of fun to sing, to dance to, and to shout out. ![]() While “Joy to The World” does have one somewhat inappropriate line for kids in it (“I’d throw away the cars and the bars and the war/make sweet love to you,”) the rest of the song is about boys, girls, fishes, the deep blue sea, and a bullfrog named Jeremiah. Add that with Randy Newman’s dulcet tones, and you have one of the best funny songs for kids that also sounds kind of nice for once. In this ditty, Randy Newman, perhaps one of the funniest songwriters of the 20th century, croons, “Short people got no reason/short people got no reason/short people got no reason/to live… They got little hands/And little eyes/And they walk around/Tellin’ great big lies.” The song is brutal for shorties, and it’s silly, funny, and completely absurd. With wacko lyrics and upbeat tunes, these funny songs for kids are ones you might listen to on your own sometimes, too. Consider classics from Randy Newman, the Decemberists, Woody Guthrie, and more. In fact, there are many funny songs for kids that aren’t Crazy Frog, Gangnam Style, or that insane Quiznos commercial featuring singing rats that aired in the post 9-11 fever dream of American advertising. With just a few lines of code, we can generate well-formatted JSON output that is easy to read and navigate. In this tutorial, we learned how to use the json module in Python to pretty print JSON as well as the pprint module. Pretty printing JSON in Python is an important skill to have for anyone working with JSON data. Logging JSON data: If we are logging JSON data in our Python application, pretty printing the data can make it easier to read and analyze the logs.Sharing JSON data with team members: If we are working on a project with other team members and need to share JSON data with them, pretty printing the data can make it easier for them to understand the data and work with it.Displaying JSON data in user interfaces: If we are building a web application or a mobile app that displays JSON data to the user, pretty printing can enhance the user experience by making the data more readable and presentable.Pretty printing JSON data in Python can help us to quickly identify any issues with the data and debug our code more efficiently. Debugging JSON data: When working with JSON data, it can be challenging to read and understand the structure of the data if it is not well-formatted.Json_str = json.dumps(data, indent=4, sort_keys=True) Here's an example using simplejson: import simplejson as json These libraries provide additional features such as faster serialization and deserialization, support for additional data types, and more flexible formatting options. The json.dumps() method is used to serialize Python objects into a JSON formatted string. The json module is a built-in module in Python, which provides methods for working with JSON data. Best Practices for Pretty Print JSON Use the json module For more information, see the documentation for the json module. Note that the json.dumps() function can also take other optional parameters, such as sort_keys, which can be used to sort the keys in the JSON output. We can adjust this parameter to control the amount of indentation in the output. # Convert the data to a JSON formatted string with 4 spaces of indentationĪs you can see, the indent parameter is set to 4, which produces a JSON string with each level of nesting indented by four spaces. Here's an example of how to pretty print JSON in Python: import json This module provides a dumps() function that can serialize Python objects into a JSON formatted string.īy default, this function produces a JSON string without any formatting, but we can use the indent parameter to specify the number of spaces to use for indentation. To pretty print JSON in Python, we can use the built-in json module.
